Joan ElizabethHACKLEY(Nee Morris) B.A M.A M.Ed Our beloved Mom and Nanny went to Heaven on Thursday, 15th March 2018, aged 88 years, after a very long journey with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), which she endured with patience. She was a special person to her devoted fan club of daughters, Anita and Adria, sons-in-law, Alan and Steve, grandchildren, Joel, Alex, Richard, Adriana, Abigail and Joshua and their partners, Kam, Philippa, Mary, Scott, Tom and Abi. Adored great-grandmother of Charlize, Olivia, Violet, Oscar and Jacob. Treasured by all her loving family and many friends, as well as a wider community of churches, community groups and schools in and around the Birmingham area. Joan loved her role as Head Teacher at Charles Burns School, Moseley, a Special Education Needs School, applying her natural caring abilities with great energy and enthusiasm until her early retirement in 1985 due to her failing health. She was an active member of St Nicholas Church, Kings Norton, for many years until her move to Headley Heath when she joined St Mary's Church, Wythall. She was an accredited Christian Counsellor and bereavement counsellor, her enduring faith growing ever-stronger, despite her physical health failing her. Her funeral service will take place at Christ Church, Yardley Wood, on Thursday, 12 April 2018, at 12noon, followed by her burial in the family grave in the churchyard.
